Janice M. Pierson

Janice M. Pierson, 85, of Sheboygan, passed away on Friday, February 7, 2025 at Aurora Medical Center, Grafton. 

 Janice was born on May 5, 1939 to the late William Wilson and Angie (Lecy) Ollila in Adams, WI. She graduated from Adams Friendship High School, Class of 1957. 

On December 30, 1960, Janice was united in marriage to James Pierson at Trinity Lutheran Church, Adams. They were devoted to each other until his passing on November 8, 1994. James and Janice loved bowling and spending time in the Northwoods. 

James and Janice moved to Sheboygan after he took a job here. Janice worked in banking for many years. In her free time, Janice was an avid volunteer, she never turned down an opportunity if her schedule allowed. She enjoyed knitting, playing cards and getting together with her social club. Within the past year, Janice transitioned into The Berkshire, an independent, senior living apartment/community in Grafton, WI, where she met and became fast friends with many of the residents. Janice was a proud grandmother of her four grandchildren and several grand dogs. 

Janice is survived by her sons Neil (Judy) Pierson and Eric (Pam) Pierson; four grandchildren Jimmy, Johnny, Janet “Maggie” and Molly Pierson; and other relatives and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her husband James Pierson; her parents, William Wilson and Angie (Oliver) Ollila; and her sisters, Joan (Vern) Roberts and Jean (Charlie) Wheeler. 

 A memorial service for Janice will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025 at 1:00pm at Ballhorn Chapels, 1201 N 8th St., Sheboygan, WI. The family will visit with relatives and friends on that Friday from 11:00am – 1:00pm at the funeral home. Janice’s inurnment will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Kohler. The memorial service will be livestreamed/recorded on the funeral home’s website.
