Jeffrey "Tiny" Miller, 67, of Sheboygan passed away Wednesday, August 17 at Morningside Health Care Center. He was born in Sheboygan on November 3, 1954, to John and Betty (Dobrenz) Miller. He was his father's "birthday present" as they shared Nov. 3 as a birthday.
Jeff attended Lyman Elementary, Farnsworth and Horace Mann Jr highs, and was a 1973 graduate of South High School. He was a husky kid and earned the nickname "Tiny" from his buddies.
He played little league hardball and softball as a young adult, but Jeff was primarily an outdoorsman. He loved going on the family camping trips to Canada and spending time up north at the family cabin in Marinette County. He grew up near the Sheboygan River and spent many hours fishing there, even when he was actual supposed to be in school. His love of fishing was lifelong. He also loved to hunt, especially deer, ducks, and even bear. As an adult he was able to continue enjoying nature and the beauty of Marinette County when he purchased his own cabin there.
Jeff was also a motorcycle enthusiast and owned several Harleys during his life. He also loved cars and trucks, owning many over the years, but his favorites were probably his Plymouth Duster, El Camino, and his pride and joy, a 1948 Willy's Jeep that he restored and owned for at least 30 years. Jeff was ambitious and got a paper route as a boy and then as soon as he could obtain a work permit, got a job at the Clark gas station. After high school, he worked at Wisconsin Metal Finishing, the Howards Grove School District, a Tape company, and Subco. He also worked part time for Lake Shore Coin. In addition he was a certified heavy equipment operator.
When Jeff was 57, his life turned upside down when he suffered a several stroke that left him paralyzed on his left side and disabled. He initially lived in assisted living until his health further declined and he moved to Morningside. Jeff had a big heart and was a loving Uncle to his nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Jeff is survived by his nieces and nephews; Jackie, Marsha, Janna, Nick, Ryan, John and Jimmy Tintle; great nieces and nephews, sister in law Dawn (the late John Jr); other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Connie, brother John Jr, sister Kitty, infant brother Dennis, and nephew Joey.
A family graveside service will be held at a latter date in Athelstene, Wi.
Many thanks to all of Jeff's Dr's, caregivers over the years and Morningside.
