JoAnn Hintzelman, 85, of Sheboygan, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Pine Haven Christian Home in Sheboygan Falls. She was born May 28, 1932 in Sheboygan to John and Pauline (Kerzich) Turk. JoAnn attended St. Peter Claver Grade School and Central High School. On April 16, 1955 she was united in marriage to the love of her life Carl Hintzelman, he preceded her in death on November 13, 2000.
JoAnn was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, her family was her pride and joy. She had a strong faith and was associated with St. Peter Claver Catholic Church. She was proud of her Slovenian heritage and loved studying geneology and passing it onto her family. She enjoyed spending time in the U.P, doing yard work, and camping. JoAnn served on the state board of directors for the Arthritis Foundation, she started the Arthritis Volunteer Action Committee for the Sheboygan Area and ran many fund raisers for Aids to Daily Living.
She is survived by her children; Barb (Craig) Stegemeyer-Lobajeski, Marie (Donald Matzdorf) Wolf, and Carl (Joan) Hintzelman, daughter-in-law Kim (Don) Diener, grandchildren; Scott (Pam) Stegemeyer, Sarah (Ryan) Grunewald, Ryan (Stacey) Wolf, Rebecca (Russ) Barlow, Lisa (Mike) Krejcarek, Lori (Matt) Sacco, CJ (Hyori) Hintzelman, Kelly (Jamie) Hintzelman and Joel (Staci Salazar) Hintzelman, 15 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Rose (Bob) Horne, she is further survived by many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son James Michael, granddaughter April Lynn, sister Sylvia Heckendorf, brother Eugene Turk, and son-in-law Bernard Stegemeyer.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 16, 2018 at 5:00 PM at Ballhorn Chapels Funeral & Cremation Care Center, 1201 N. 8th St. Sheboygan. Burial will take place at Wildwood Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Monday, April 16, 2018 from 3:00 PM until the time of service at the FUNERAL HOME.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice or Pine Haven Christian Home.
