Johanna E. Herman, 93, of Sheboygan, passed away Friday, September 13, 2013 at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center. She was born in Sturgeon Bay on September 22, 1919 to the late John and Marie (Vodicka) Baumann. In June of 1939, she married Richard R. Herman. He preceded her in death in April of 1974. Johanna was a bookkeeper at the Manitowoc courthouse as well as other various local businesses before retiring at the age of 90 as a greeter at Wal-Mart. Presently, she was working with St. Dominic and St. Vincent De Paul conference calls. Johanna enjoyed spending time with her family, especially fishing with her husband before he passed and traveling. Survivors include one daughter, Bonnie Konik; one grandson, Dean Konik; four great grandchildren, Richard, Jacquelyn, Tabitha and James Konik; two brothers, Joseph Baumann and Donald Baumann. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Antone and John, and six sisters, Mary, Lydia, Ella, Beatrice, Elizabeth and Annie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Dominic Catholic Church (2133 N. 21st Street, Sheboygan) with the Rev. Philip Reifenberg officiating. Friends may call on Tuesday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Entombment will follow at the Calvary Mausoleum. (2601 S. 14th Street, Manitowoc) A memorial fund has been established in Johanna's name.
