John Johnson

John Nicholas Johnson, age 65, of Sheboygan, passed on Tuesday morning, December 1, 2015 in his home. John was born August 25, 1950 in Sheboygan to Nicholas S. and Mary T. (Tzini) Johnson. He was a graduate of Sheboygan North High School, Class of 1969 and received his Bachelor of Arts-History degree from UW-Madison in 1973. In 1972, John and his brother Bob took over the family business (the Wisconsin Theatre/Stage Door in Sheboygan, The Strand in Manitowoc, and The West Bend theatre) which they ran for many many years. John was a member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church and its award winning softball team, NATO (National Association of Theatre Owners), and the host of the internationally acclaimed Potzrebie Open. John was an avid skier and international traveler and loved to do both with his son Alexander and making friends everywhere they went. In addition to his wife Eileen, John is survived by his son, Alexander; his five sisters, Joanne (Ted) Donhauser, Penelope Leonard, Aline (James) Stephani, Louise (Niels) Hoyvald, and Patricia (Jack) Hunter; one brother, Robert (Karen) Johnson; his six nieces, seven nephews, nine grand nieces and nephews; his sister-law, Marian (Glenn) Wire, their five children, eight grandchildren and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nick and Mary, eldest sister, Elaine Johnson, and first wife, Fran Napotnik. A Memorial Service will be held at Ballhorn Chapels Funeral and Cremation Care Center at 5:00 p.m. Friday, December 4, 2015. Father Leo Gavrilos will officiate. A time of visitation and support will be held from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Johns name.
