John G. Miller, age 89, of Sheboygan, died Friday, March 4, 2016 at Sheboygan Progressive Care Center. He was born August 29, 1926 in Cleveland Ohio to John F. and Kathy (Paul) Miller. He was a graduate of West Tech High School, Class of 1944. He then served his country in the US Army from January, 1945 to December, 1946. He received his Bachelors Degree from Ohio State University, Class of 1951.
On May 3, 1958 John and Lois A. Klein were united in marriage at St. Colman Catholic Church in Cleveland, Ohio. In 1965 the couple became Sheboygan residents. After retirement he and Lois traveled extensively in Europe and in the United States and Canada. Many happy times were spent at the family cabin in Townsend, WI. Lois preceded him in death on February 28, 2012.
For twenty-four years John was employed at Cleve-Pak-Plymouth as an industrial engineer, plant manager, general manager, and retiring as project engineer in 1985. Following retirement, John began his own carpet cleaning business and later worked as courier for Wells Fargo Bank.
John was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Parish where he served as an usher. He also was a member of St. Vincent De Paul Society.
John is survived by five sons, John (Lisa) Miller of Mount Prospect, IL, James Miller of Plymouth, Robert (Kristin) Miller of Sherwood, Thomas Miller, and Michael (Jill) Miller both of Sheboygan; four grandchildren, Sarah, Michael, Meredith, and Joseph; and other relatives and friends.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Miller.
A memorial mass will be celebrated at 12 noon, Friday, March 11, 2016 at St. Dominic Catholic Church. Rev. Phil Reifenberg, Pastor, will be the Celebrant. A time of visitation and support will be held at the church from 10:30 a.m. until the time of mass.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his name.
