Joseph F. Brillowski, 82, of Sheboygan passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice surrounded by his family. He was born February 25, 1935 in Stevens Point to Emil and Anna (Maziarka) Brillowski. He graduated from Stevens Point Area Senior High School "SPASH", and went on to Wausau Technical College. Joe proudly served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict from 1954 to 1956.
On February 3, 1962 he was united in marriage to the love of his life Phyllis Cutler in Milwaukee.
Joe worked as a home designer for Ebenreiter Lumber Company, and then retired from Eggebeen Builders in 1981. He had a deep faith and attended St. Dominic Catholic Church, and was a member of the Sheboygan VFW Post 9156. Joe was a true outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing on Lake Michigan. One of his claims to fame was winning the American Salmon Derby on Lake Michigan in 1981.
Joe was an avid Packer fan, he enjoyed coin collecting, playing cards, but most importantly spending time and creating memories with his family.
Joe is survived by his wife Phyllis, daughters; Laura Thompson, Rhonda (Marc) Brami, Gina (Randy) Turley, and son-in-law Howard Prahl, by grandchildren; Robert Thompson, Shannon (Mason) Walters, Brady Brami, Samantha (Brian) Bastil, Andrea (Travis) Dowland, Jolene (Alex) Diedrich, Lucy Turley and Kelsey Turley, by great-grandchildren; Maverik, Max and Emma, Bella, Madison, Everett and Jordy on the way, by sister Margaret (Allen) Zorn and by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Sandy Prahl, son-in-law Michael Thompson and sisters Florence Rutta and Delores Zachow.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 15, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Ballhorn Chapels Funeral & Cremation Care Center, 1201 N. 8th St. Sheboygan, with Fr. Matthew Widder officiating. Military Honors will follow. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Friday, December 15, 2017 from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the FUNERAL HOME.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established in Joe's name.
