Joshua Thomas

Joshua S Thomas, 28, of West Allis, WI, passed away August 2nd, 2022. He is survived by his father Scott

Thomas of Sheboygan, brother Chris Thomas of Milwaukee, and his sister Crystal (Mitch) Hess of

Sheboygan. Josh was proceeded in death by his mother Julie Thomas in September 2014.

Josh grew up in Sheboygan and graduated in 2012 from Sheboygan North High School. He then attended

the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and earned his Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in

Business Finance with an emphasis in Insurance. Shortly after, he earned his Masters of Business

Administration (MBA) with a 4.0 GPA from UW-Whitewater.

Josh started his professional career at Travelers Insurance in Brookfield, WI, where he is a Subrogation

Technical Specialist. Outside of being the highest performing worker in his department for multiple

years, he focused on giving back to and building up healthy communities. Josh invited other friends and

colleagues to share in his passion. He spearheaded the national partnership between Traveler's

Insurance and DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America), where he committed 9+ years to help

high schoolers learn valuable business skills. He also championed the Young Professionals Diversity

Network and served as a Chairperson of the Diversity Committee.

Josh was a caring and generous individual toward others, but one of his most astounding attributes was

his power of connection with friends and family. Always finding time to host group events, showing up

for people’s special moments, and generally being a friend - a true friend - were Josh’s true strengths.

Somehow, he still prioritized showing the people in his life that he cared. Among his goofy antics,

fantastical one-liners, and witty banter, he carried a buoyant energy wherever he went. His loving

character was just as decorated as his stellar professional career. He leaves behind a large group of

communities that love him.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, 824 Wisconsin Ave., Sheboygan, with Pastor John Berg officiating.  Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Saturday, August 13, 2022, from 9:00 AM until the time of service at the CHURCH.
