Julia Anne Erbstoeszer Ehlert was born on September 13, 1930, in Sheboygan, WI and passed away peacefully on March 5, 2022. She grew up in Haven, WI. Daughter of Arthur C. and Elva A. (Roehl) Erbstoeszer. She graduated from Sheboygan Central High School in 1948 and went on to Bethesda Hospital School of Nursing in St. Paul, Minnesota, where she graduated in 1952. She married Richard H. Ehlert on October 16, 1958, in Des Moines, Iowa. Julia’s career as a registered nurse spanned over forty years, primarily as a surgical nurse. She worked for a number of institutions including St. Nicholas Hospital, Sheboygan Memorial Hospital, Sheboygan Retirement Home, and Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York City. She belonged to the Bethesda Alumni Association, Trinity Lutheran Church Altar Guild, VFW 9156 Auxiliary, and the Red Hat Garter Girls. She also volunteered for many years at the Weill Center for the Performing Arts. Julia enjoyed ceramics, knitting, quilting, embroidery, crafts, playing cards, and her Old Fashioneds. She also loved watching Packers and Badgers football and along with her husband was a long-time season ticket holder for both.
Julia was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her brother Carl E. Erbstoeszer, and sister Jeanne E. Hinz.
She is survived by her sons, Dr Frederick (Lisa) of New York City and Peter (Beth) of Butte des Morts, her grandchildren Anke Ehlert and Karl Ehlert, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Ballhorn Funeral Chapels, 1201 N. 8th St., Sheboygan on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, from 4-7pm and again on Thursday, March 10, 2022, from 10-11am with funeral service at 11am and burial to follow at Wildwood Cemetery.
Julia’s family would like to thank the staff of Park View Health Center in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, for their loving, compassionate, and high-quality care over the last two years.
