June McCarty

June 29, 1929 — May 1, 2016

June J. McCarty age 86, met her Savior on Sunday, May 1, 2016. She was born in Aniwa, WI to parents James and Lauretta (Greenlaw) Sweeney. June was a 1947 graduate of Sheboygan Central High School. June was united in marriage to Larry A. McCarty on August 30, 1947 at First Presbyterian Church. She began her life as a wife and mother. Later she began working at Park & Shop where she met people and made many friends. June remained active with volunteering at the Salvation Army Thrift Shop and the Sheboygan Food Pantry.
June will be remembered for outgoing personality and befriending people from all walks of life. She always left them with a positive remark. One of her greatest passions was to attend to her floral and vegetable gardens. She enjoyed making crafts of all kinds. June enjoyed social activities, including watching the Packers, going dancing with Larry and visiting the Grand Ole Opry.
June is survived by; five children, Linda Nowak, Mark McCarty, Susie (Gary) Schmidt, Dick (TC) McCarty and Nancy (Jeff) Laven; eight grandchildren; Paula (John) Lefeber, Amy Nowak, Windy (Joe) Van Bemmel, Grace McCarty, Becky (Zach) Dienberg, Peter (Andrea) McCarty, Sally (Ryan) Spannagle and Curt Laven; five great-grandchildren, Colin, Gwen, Jacob, Ann and baby Van Bemmel due in July; one nephew, David Hartman; son-in-law, Bernie Nowak and best friend Carol Nourse. June is preceded in death by her parents; reunited with her loving husband, Larry; one sister, Aimee; one brother, Hugh Sweeney; granddaughter, Brianna and daughter-in-law, Vernice McCarty.
A time of visitation and support for family and friends will be held at Ballhorn Chapels Funeral and Cremation Care Center, 1201 N. 8th St., on Wednesday, May 4 from 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM. Funeral Service for June will be held at 5:00 PM with Rev. Bryan Osladil officiating. Private committal at Sheboygan Falls Cemetery. A memorial fund in June's name has been established. The family would like to thank Carol, Tender Hearts, first floor staff at Sunny Ridge and Sharon Richardson Hospice for their care and support.
