Karen Jean Renskers, age 77, a resident of Pine Haven Christian Home, died there peacefully Thursday morning, July 24, 2014. She was born October 31, 1936, in Cedar Grove to Willis and Mary (Garside) Renskers. She attended Cedar Grove Schools and was a graduate of Cedar Grove High School, Class of 1955. She furthered her education at Sheboygan Vocational School and was employed at the Foeste Hotel in the laundry area. Later Karen was employed at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital in housekeeping, retiring after thirty years in 1997. Karen moved to Pine Haven Christian Home where she made many friends and was dear to the staff. She was formerly a member of First Reformed Church in Cedar Grove and currently a member of Hope Reformed Church in Sheboygan. Karen enjoyed singing, music, playing cards, and playing bingo at Pine Haven. She is survived by her sister, Patricia (Roland) Huibregtse; her brother, Armand (Joyce) Renskers; nieces and nephews, Thomas (Norene) Huibregtse, Maribeth Quast, Kathleen (Steven) Landgraf, Jon Huibregtse and his wife, Ellen Zimmerman, Ann (Robert) Rauwenhorst, and Kim Renskers and her special friend, Mark; and other great- nieces and great- nephews In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by great-nephews, Brian and Alex Quast; Robert Renskers, and Timothy Huibregtse. A memorial service will be held at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at Pine Haven Christian Home Chapel. Rev. Bill TeWinkel, Pastor of Hope Reformed Church, will officiate. Friends and family may call at 5:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her name for Pine Haven Residence Assistance Fund. Karen's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the excellent staff at Pine Haven Christian Home for their loving care.
