Karen M. Wagner, 71, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on January 18, 2016 after a bout with pancreatic cancer. Karen was born on November 28, 1944 to Clarence and Rose (Schuler) Bogenschuetz in Sheboygan. William N. Wagner of Cleveland and Karen were united in marriage on April 30, 1966 at St. Peter Claver Parish.
Karen graduated from South High School in 1963. She worked in the customer service field for various companies including R-Way Furniture, Johnsonville Sausage and The Print Shop, Division of Franzen Graphics retiring in May of 2008.
Karen will be remembered for her positive attitude and eternal optimism, her craft projects and her anticipation of casino trips. Her proudest accomplishment was spearheading the genetic research to find the muted gene that causes colorectal cancer in the Bogenschuetz family.
She is survived by her husband, William, her son Brian, of Portland, OR, her daughter, Sandra (Eduardo) Bayona of Sheboygan, along with nine grandchildren, Thomas (Maranda Vandeventer) Wagner, William, Andrew, Matthew, Crystal, Aaron, Evan, Briana, and Kyle Bayona, and a great-granddaughter, Taliah Wagner, all of Sheboygan.
Also surviving are three brothers and four sisters, James Bogenschuetz, Gerald (Joan) Bogenschuetz, and Donald (Lynn) Bogenschuetz all of Sheboygan, Sister Patricia Bogenschuetz CSA of Milwaukee, Ann (Gary) Specht of Sheboygan, Mary (Michael) Murphy of Sheboygan Falls, and Jean (Mark) Corrigan of Green Bay. Also survived by her mother-in-law Agnes Wagner of Sheboygan, sisters-in-law; Iris Wagner of Sheboygan Falls, Betty Koenig of Plymouth, Mary (Harold) Hibbard of Newton, and Jean (Theodore) Behling of Cleveland along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, relatives and friends.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Rose Bogenschuetz, brother Joseph Bogenschuetz, father-in-law James Wagner, brother-in-law Thomas Wagner and Mary Jane Hoffmann.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, January 22, 2016 at 12:30 PM at St. Dominic Parish 2113 N. 22nd St. Sheboygan, with Fr. Matthew Widder officiating. A private family inurnment will take place at a later date. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Thursday, January 21, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Zimmer Westview Funeral Cremation Care Center W2132 Garton Rd. Sheboygan, and again on Friday, January 22, 2016 from 10:30 AM until the time of Mass at the CHURCH.
In lieu of flowers donations would be appreciated to American Cancer Society or Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
