Karl A. Reinemann, age 88, a resident of the Pine Haven Christian Home of Oostburg, passed away peacefully on Monday October 13, 2014. He was born in Sheboygan on February 27, 1926, a son of the late Albert and Alma (Hildebrand) Reinemann. Karl attended school in Sheboygan, and was a 1944 graduate of Sheboygan Central High School. For several years, he was employed by the Rockow Roofing and Siding Company, starting his career with Kohler Company in 1954, retiring from the Brass Division in 1988. Karl was a member of the Quarter Century Club. On August 17, 1946 Karl was united in marriage with Virginia Roepke at the parsonage of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Sheboygan. She preceded him in death on November 11, 2003. Karl was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Howards Grove, where he volunteered his time helping the treasurer for many years. He was a charter member of the Howards Grove Lions Club where he served multiple terms in various offices of the club. He was one of the original designers and builders of the Lions 6 man bicycle, which was popular at various parades throughout the county over the years. He also served with the Sheboygan County Area Lions Eye Bank, serving on its board of directors for several years, and always enjoyed helping with vision screenings at various schools. He was awarded the Melvin Jones Fellowship by the Lions. Family was always important to Karl, and he treasured his time with his grandkids and the family pets. He bowled in Men's leagues for many years, and later in many senior leagues, only retiring from the sport in the last few years. Surviving Karl are three sons; Thomas (Sally) of Sheboygan Falls, Terry (Shirley) of Lowell, AR and Gary (Laura) of Plymouth, one daughter, Gail (Jerry) Peterson of Trenton, WI.; six grandchildren, Julie (Skip) Wyss, Lisa and Dana Reinemann, Tricia (Mike) Prodoehl, Craig (Amber) Reinemann, Jason (Kristine) Hensel; six great grandchildren, Alexandra, Isabella, Peyton, Brecken, Lukas and Kyle; his special friend and companion, Janet Limberg of Plymouth, a brother, Don (Shirley) Reinemann of Hayward. In addition to his wife and parents, Karl was also preceded in death by 2 children, Steven and Kathy, and infant grandson; Dustin; two sisters, Virginia Bruckschen and Helen Lutze and four brothers-in-law, Alfred and Dennis Roepke, Clarence Bruckschen and Ray Lutze, and his sister-in-law, Jane Roepke. A Funeral Service will be held for Karl on Friday, October 17, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Howards Grove. Reverend Darrel Bergelin, pastor will officiate. Interment will follow at St. John & St. Peter Cemetery in Kassa. Friends may call at the Zimmer Westview Funeral & Cremation Care Center W2132 Garton Road, Howards Grove on Thursday October 16, 2014 from 4 until 7 p.m and at the CHURCH on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. A memorial fund has been established to Lions Camp Rosholt in Karl's name.
