Katherine Kaat

July 4, 1942 — December 11, 2015

Katherine L. Kaat, age 73, of Sheboygan, went home to her Lord on Friday evening, December 11, 2015 at St. Nicholas Hospital. She was born July 4, 1942 in Sheboygan to Arno and Rhoda (Mahnke) Meyer. At a young age Arno died and Rhoda remarried John Moreau. Kathy attended local schools and was a graduate of Sheboygan Central High School, Class of 1960. On August 27, 1960 Kathy and Gerald Kaat were united in marriage at Ebenezer Lutheran Church. Over the years Kathy worked at the North side McDonalds, Schulzs Restaurant, and was a partner with her husband at Kaats Kafe and Kaats Painting and Decorating for many years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Howards Grove. Kathy enjoyed golfing, bowling, reading and traveling. Following retirement Kathy and Jerry enjoyed their winters in Southern Texas. She also enjoyed her monthly luncheons with her McDonalds friends and cousins. Above all, she loved her family gatherings. In addition to her husband, Jerry, she is survived by three daughters, Linda (David) Jesinski, Diane (Rodney) Jarosinski, and Kim (Michael) Holler all of Sheboygan; six grandchildren, Shannon (Brad) Hansmann, Jason Dehne, Andy (Amy) Dehne, Meghan Dehne, Eric (Amanda) Holler, and Ashley Holler; four great-grandchildren, Hunter, Peyton, Avery, and Addison; her twin sister, Kathleen (Richard) Boedecker of Howards Grove; and other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Mike Meyer. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at Ballhorn Funeral Chapels. Rev. Darrel Bergelin, Pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, Howards Grove, will officiate. A time of visitation and support will be held from 12 Noon until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her name for St. Nicholas Hospice. Kathys family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at St. Nicholas Hospital/Hospice for their tender, loving care.
