Kathleen A. “Kathy/Kitty” Miller, 67, of Sheboygan passed away Monday, August 9, 2021, of an apparent heart attack. She was born in Sheboygan on December 11, 1953, to the late John and Betty (Dobrenz) Miller. Kathy attended Lyman Elementary, Farnsworth, and was a 1972 graduate of South High School. During childhood her neighbor Mr. Schoen started calling her Kitty because she was a red head like “Miss Kitty” on the TV show Gunsmoke, and the nickname stayed with her through life. She enjoyed pool, bowling, miniature bowling, and dart leagues when she was younger. Over the years Kathy worked at the Sheboygan Theater, Pizza Hut, Eclipse, Mayline, Watry, and Convenient Video. But due to numerous back and neck surgeries that left her with limited mobility and severe chronic pain, she was disabled for the last few decades of her life. Kitty wasn’t the type to put up with other people’s nonsense, and she wasn’t shy about letting them know it either. But she was also honest, kind and giving. Over the years she found several wallets and even a bank envelope with $5000 in it, and she turned all of them over to the rightful owners. She’d do small favors like sewing patches on a Boy Scout uniform for a friend’s son. She’d take neighbors who were alone on holidays plates of food. When she was still able to drive, she took her aunt and uncle to appointments, ran errands, and checked up on them. When her neighbor was struck by a car, she did what she could to help during his recovery. Many of her good deeds were behind the scenes. Because Kitty didn’t like to brag about herself, most people that knew her never realized she saved two lives. More than 40 years ago, she was instrumental in saving the life of a motorcyclist she saw get hit by a car, and about 20 years after that, she rescued a child from a dog attack. While she didn’t brag about herself, she did like to brag about her grandchildren! She was a very proud and loving grandma who thought the world of them. Kitty is survived by two daughters, Jackie (Kevin) and Janna; four grandchildren, Billy, Dominique, Preston and Lillyana; her great grandson Juan Jamie Jr; brother Jeffrey; and sister-in-law Dawn (the late John). Kitty is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; son Joey; sister Connie; brother John Jr; infant brother Dennis. A celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, October 16, 2021, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at Doug’s Skip'er Inn, 808 Broadway Avenue, Sheboygan. A very heartfelt thank you to Dr. Brooks, Dr. Kuttickut, Dr. Jill Schmidt, Divita Dialysis, and Kitty’s neighbor and friend Jackie Burke for all they have done for her.
