Kathryn Otte, 94, departed this life to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at Morningside Health Center. She was born July 14, 1920 to the late James and Adrianna (Jennie VanDeRepe) Dekker at home in Sheboygan. Kathryn graduated from Sheboygan Christian School and Sheboygan High School. On October 15, 1941, Kathryn married Henry Otte at the First Christian Reformed Church in Sheboygan. They were blessed with 65 years of happy marriage. Henry preceded Kathryn in death on June 20, 2006. Together they raised six children. Kathryn served as a homemaker, loving mother and grandmother. She lived a life of thankfulness to God with a gracious spirit. As a member of the First Christian Reformed Church, Kathryn belonged to the Eunice Bible Society, Lois Mission Society and was a member of the Ladies Prayer Group since it was founded. She also served for many years as a teacher in the Friendship Club. Kathryn is survived by four daughters, Jeannine (Cal) Voskuil, Sheboygan, Doris (Gary) Kolste, Hingham, Janet (Randy) Miller, Jamestown, ND and Susan (Ed) Klynsma, Hospers, IA; one daughter-in-law, Karen Otte, Cedar Grove, WI; twenty one grandchildren, Tim (Jenny) Otte, Ken (Kristin) Otte, Amy (Ryan) Dekker, Denise (Ryan) Rabe, Eric (Sally) Eernisse, Scott (Janel) Eernisse, Ann (Robb) Steenwyk, Scott (Heather) Voskuil, Laura (Cameron) Wilson, Jeff (Amy) Kolste, Joe (Kelly) Kolste, Dan (Shelly) Kolste, Leah (Justin) Zehel, Bryan (Lori) Miller, Jon (Samantha) Miller, Bill (Jolynn) Miller, Maria (Kayle) Nielsen, Julie (Dan) Jacobsma, Karen Klynsma, Mike (Rina) Klynsma and James Klynsma. Kathryn is further survived by thirty five great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Ann Prinsen, Cedar Grove; one brother-in-law, Bob Walvoort and one sister-in-law, Lillian Dekker, Sheboygan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry, two sons, James and Phillip and a daughter-in-law, Nancy Otte. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Peter Dekker, two sisters, Jane Boerkel and Lillian Walvoort, two brothers-in-law, Ben Boerkel and Warren Prinsen and Henry's brothers, sisters and spouses. A funeral service for Kathryn will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. at First Christian Reformed Church (428 Geele Ave., Sheboygan) with the Rev. Larry Meyer officiating. Friends may call on Saturday, at the church, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Entombment will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park. A memorial fund has been established in Kathryn's name for Sheboygan County Christian High School. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Morningside Health Center.
