Kaye Baker Norwood, age, 79, of Sheboygan, WI passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2015, at her home after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. Kaye was born in Easton, MD on March 21, 1936 to the late Kenneth and Sara Baker. She attended school in Bridgeville, DE. On October 4, 1969, Kaye was united in marriage with John Thomas Norwood in Laytonsville, MD. They were together until Toms death on December 26, 2005. Kaye worked in various occupations as an office clerk, secretary, owner of The Country Store on Tilghman Island, MD, finally retiring from the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum Gift Shop, where she worked for 17 years as a clerk and gift shop assistant manager. After her retirement in 2001, Kaye and Tom moved to Sheboygan to be near family. Throughout her life, Kaye was always busy and remained active until a few weeks before her death. She volunteered at St. Nicholas Hospital, delivered for Meals on Wheels, sang in the church choir, and participated in other various activities at Fountain Park United Methodist Church. Her two granddaughters in Sheboygan also kept her running with their activities; she attended as many as she could. Kaye took great care of herself, walking regularly and participating in water aerobics. It seems that anything that Mom tried, she excelled in. She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed knitting, baking, reading, working in the yard and spending time with friends and family. Over the years, Kaye took many trips to visit her children and grandchildren in different parts of the U.S. Mom was a wonderful mother and friend and will be greatly missed by all. Kaye is survived by five children: Terri (Ric) Payne of Fort Lupton, CO; Cindy (Mike) Jorgensen of Round Rock, TX; Julie Norwood of Seattle, WA; Stan (Tammi) Norwood of New London, VA; and Timothy (Ursula) Norwood of Sheboygan, WI. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Additional survivors include her brother and his wife, Tom and Sally Baker of Bethany Beach, DE, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband Tom, Kaye was preceded in death by her parents and an infant great-grandson. The family would like to thank Pastor Warren Waddell and the congregation of Fountain Park United Methodist Church, Doctors Bettag, Pawlak, and Coulis, the fourth floor nurses at St. Nicholas Hospital, and St. Nicholas Home Health and Hospice. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Fountain Park United Methodist Church 828 Erie Ave. Sheboygan, with Pastor Warren Waddell officiating. Inurnment took place at Bridgeville Cemetery in Bridgeville, DE. In lieu of flowers, a Memorial Fund has been established in Kayes name at Fountain Park United Methodist Church.
