Lawrence "Larry" Stangel

Lawrence "Larry" Stangel, age 78, of Sheboygan went to be home with his Lord and Savior Jesus on April 19, 2022, at Rocky Knoll Health Care Center.

He was born in Sheboygan on August 13, 1943, to the late Michael and Helen (nee Kershek) Stangel.  He graduated from South High School in 1963.  Larry was a drummer with the Ghost Riders for many years.  He was also a member of the Sheboygan Scuba Diving Club.  On February 26, 1966, Larry married the love of his life, Geraldine Myer at Holy Name Catholic Church.

Larry liked to fish, play cards with family and friends, hunt, and playing the drums.  He will be remembered for his quick wit and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Geri; children, Christine Stangel and William (Amber) Stangel; siblings, Fredrick (Beverly) Stangel, Rosie Reinwand; nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Along with his parents, Larry was preceded in death by sons, Charles Michael and Steven William; a grandson Tylor Stangel; a sister JoAnn and brother Donald.

A Celebration of life for Larry will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at Word of Grace Community Church, 837 Buffalo St. in Sheboygan Falls with Pastor Stephen Maris officiating.  Family will greet visitors on Saturday at church from NOON until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his name.

The family would like to thank the staff at Rocky Knoll Health Care Center for the excellent care given to Larry in his final days.
