Lea Marie Wolske, formerly of Haven, passed into Jesus' arms on April 12, 2018 at Rocky Knoll Healthcare Center, her home of the last 8 years, after a 30 year struggle with chronic hereditary spastic paraplegia. She was 48 years old.
Lea was born January 26, 1970 in Oconto Falls, the daughter of Gene and Kay (nee Schmitt) Wolske. She attended school in Howards Grove, graduating from Howards Grove High School in 1989.
Lea loved socializing and having fun. She loved music (especially Keith Urban's), movies (especially ones with Patrick Swayze) and the Green Bay Packers (especially when Clay Matthews was playing). Her family and many friends at Rocky Knoll will remember her spunky and feisty nature.
Lea is survived by her parents Gene Sr. and Kay of Pound and her siblings: Renee (Craig) Heins of Clintonville, Roxane (John) Runge of Suring, Sara (Gerald) Wolske Lutzke of Sheboygan and Gene E. Wolske of Oregon, WI. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and many dear friends and caregivers.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents Leo and June Schmitt and Henry and Betty Wolske, aunts Judy Green and Audrey Schmitt, uncle James Wolske and cousin Steven Wolske.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00PM on Sunday, April 29, 2018 at Grace Lutheran Church, 210 N. Lincoln Street in Elkhart Lake. The family will receive visitors at the church on Sunday from 2:00-3:00PM. She will be laid to rest at Immanuel Cemetery in the town of Mosel.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Grace Lutheran Church (Elkhart Lake) or Rocky Knoll.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Rocky Knoll who treated Lea with respect, care, love and friendship, especially those on 1 West, Hedy Schweitzer-Morris and Lori Hanson. They would also like to thank Pastor Peter Peitsch and the staff of Compassus Hospice and Palliative Care, especially Ilene and Monica.
"God saw you getting tired.
When a cure was not to be,
He wrapped his arms around you,
And whispered "Come to me".
You didn't deserve what you went through
So He gave you needed rest,
God's garden must be beautiful,
He only takes the best."
