Leland C. Nehrling, age 95, passed away on Tuesday, August 3, 2016. He was born on August 29, 1920 to Otto and Cora (Hoffman) Nehrling in Waldo, WI. Leland was baptized and confirmed at St. Thomas Luther Church in the Town of Lima. Leland was a 1937 graduate of Waldo High School and attended the Mission House, now known as Lakeland University. He proudly served his country in the US Army from 1942-1945, being stationed in Europe with the famed 99th Infantry Division. Leland was united in marriage on November 3, 1945 to Ethel Heinzen at Trinity Lutheran Church - Town Wilson. He worked as a purchasing agent for H.C. Prange Co. for 42 years until his retirement in July of 1983. During his life, Leland enjoyed fishing in Northern Wisconsin, watching Green Bay Packer games, collecting and listening to Big Band music and the companionship of his loyal dog, Pup. Leland is survived by his son Carl and wife Barbara Nehrling. He is also survived by members of the Shirley Rindfleisch family, Patricia and Mark Pawasarat, Randy Rindfleisch, Mary Hart and Barbara Stewart and their children as well as by two sister-in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews. Leland was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Ethel Nehrling; brother, Frederic Nehrling and dear friend, Shirley Rindfleisch A time of gathering and support will be held at Ballhorn Chapels Funeral and Cremation Care Center, 1201 N. 8th Street, on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 from 12:30 PM - 1:30 PM. Funeral Services at will be held on Tuesday at 1:30 PM with Chaplain Bob Lantz of Heartland Hospice, officiating. A private committal will take place at the Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the Sheboygan County Historical Society.
