Leo A. Lorenz, 95, of Sheboygan, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 7, 2025 at Sharon H. Richardson Community Hospice surrounded by his family.
Leo was born on October 7, 1929 in Kohler to the late Charles and Marie (Kampmann) Lorenz. He graduated from Kohler High School, Class of 1949. On July 28, 1951 Leo was united in marriage to Patricia Balke at St. Clement’s Catholic Church. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary before Pat’s passing on May 16, 2002.
Leo was a U.S. Army veteran serving from 1951-1953. He worked at Kohler Co., Plastics Engineering Co. and Alaark Tooling and Automation.
Leo was a member of St. Peter Claver Parish. He volunteered to help establish CYO Sunday Bingo, Friday Night Youth Club Rooms, monthly Fish Fry and was a member of the Usher Society. Leo and Pat looked forward to their yearly vacations to Florida. He also enjoyed pheasant hunting in Iowa and deer hunting in Pembine with his friends and brothers. Leo was an avid lifelong Yankee fan.
Leo is survived by his daughters Maureen (Dale) Koenig of Sheboygan, Liz (Dan) Braun of Madison and Bo (Steve) Lorenz-Meyer of Sheboygan; three grandchildren Terry (Tim) Koenig-Stolper of Sheboygan, Stacy (Chris) Waack of Reedsville and Brian Braun (fiancé Michelle) of Appleton; two great-grandchildren Josh Stolper and Jaxon Waack; sisters-in-law, Terry, Delores, Shirley and Gloria Lorenz; and other extended family, Stephanie, Patrick and Drew and friends.
Leo is preceded in death by his loving wife Pat; his parents Charles and Marie Lorenz; his brothers, Donald, Charles, Bundy and Joe Lorenz.
A funeral service for Leo is scheduled on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at 4:00pm at Ballhorn Chapels, 1201 N 8th St., Sheboygan, with Deacon Michael Burch officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends from 2:00pm until the time of the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Leo will be privately laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery, Sheboygan. The funeral service will be available via livestream/recording on the funeral’s website.
The family wants to extend a heartfelt thanks to Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice, especially Mary, Nancy, Kaitlin, Michelle, Lisa, Stacy, Maureen and a few other angels for all their unending love and support.
