Leonard Gort

Leonard J. Gort, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away Sunday evening, July 23, 2017 at his home. He was 75 years old.
Leonard was born September 10, 1941 in Sheboygan, the son of Leonard and Chrystal (nee Becker) Gort. After high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Army. On April 27, 1967, he was united in marriage to Carol Konsella in Stanley, WI. Leonard retired on May 1, 2008 from Curt G. Joa, Inc. in Sheboygan Falls after 18 years. Prior, he had worked at Hayssen Manufacturing in Sheboygan for 15 years.
Leonard was a member of Sheboygan Falls American Legion Post #149. He enjoyed hunting and bowling.
Leonard is survived by his wife Carol and their daughter Dawn (Scott) Lope of Sheboygan Falls. He is further survived by 2 grandchildren: Jonathon and Kaysha Lope, brother Ted Gort, sisters Beverly (Robert) Lawrenz, Hannah (Donald) Wierzbach and Nona Miller.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Jack.
According to Leonard's wishes, a private family memorial service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to American Legion Post #149.
