Linda S. Rose, 68, of Sheboygan, joined her maker on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Hospital with her family present. Linda was born on January 29, 1947 in New Haven, CT to Raymond and Doris (Scheiding) Socia. Linda graduated from Bay View High School In 1965. She then attended the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee. On September 25, 1976 she was united in marriage to James Parker Rose at University Lutheran Chapel in Milwaukee.
Linda always strove for love against hatred, pardon against injury, hope against despair, and knowledge against ignorance. Linda had a lifelong interest in art, education, genealogy, travel, and fine cuisine.
Linda worked at the Milwaukee Public Museum as an intern building exhibits and as a manager in the gift shop. She moved to Sheboygan with her family in 1990. She attended St. Mark Lutheran Church where she served in the church office, and as Parish educator. She also worked with the Sheboygan Area Lutheran Cooperative Vacation Bible School, where for several years she helped write the curriculum.
Linda is survived by her husband James, son Matthew Rose, and daughter Mariette (friend Ryan Richter) Rose. She is further survived by her sisters Nanci Saucier of Westmont, IL, and Allison Gee of East Des Moines, IA, niece Stephanie (Abdul) Waheed, nephews Brian Sims and Rian Socia, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Robert Socia.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 1:00 PM at St. Mark Lutheran Church 1019 N. 7th St. Sheboygan, with Pastor Brett Matz officiating. Relatives and friends may visit with family on Saturday, February 6, 2016 from 11:00 AM until the time of service at the CHURCH.
