Lloyd A. Nikisch, age 83, of Sheboygan, was called home to his Lord and Savior on Friday morning, Jaunary 23, 2015 at Sheboygan Senior Community. He was born October 9, 1931 in Sheboygan to Arthur and Esther (Bahr) Nikisch. He served his country in the US Navy for five years stationed in Norfolk, Virginia aboard the USS Missouri. On November 28, 1953 Lloyd and Audrey Tetschlag were united in marriage at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. For thirty three years Lloyd was employed at Vollrath Co. retiring in 1996. He was a faithful member of Bethany Lutheran Church where he served as elder. Lloyd enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was also known for his trapping of snapping turtles. He was also a Boy Scout leader in his younger years. Above all, he loved his wife and adored his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Audrey, he is survived by his daughters, Debbie (Eugene) Hooper of Lake Mills, WI and Diane (Brian) Wimmler of Waldo, WI; His daughter-in-law, Linda Nikisch of Sheboygan; his grandchildren, Peter (Jenny) Nikisch, Melissa, Jeremy, Aaron, Jonathan, Philip, Angela (fiancé, Travis Siebenaler), Collin, Preston, Elizabeth, and Felicity Wimmler, Sara, Jason (Brittany), Amy, and Nicole Hooper; great-grandchildren, Bret and Brandon Nikisch; his cousin, Richard Bayens; his sister-in-law, Orva Tetschlag; and other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Nikisch; his son, Donald Nikisch; his grandson, Jordan Wimmler; his brother-in-law, Dennis Tetschlag; and his aunt, Edna Bayens. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 26, 2015 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Kohler. Rev. Robert Steele, Pastor, will officiate. A time of visitation and support will be held Monday at the church from 12 Noon until the time of service. Entombment will follow at Garden Terrace Mausoleum. Lloyd's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Sheboygan Senior Community for their patience and special care these last few years. Special thanks to the excellent care from the staff at St. Nicholas Hospital as well.
