Lloyd J. Tenpas
Mr. Lloyd Tenpas, of Sheboygan, formerly of Cedar Grove, passed away Monday morning, October 31, 2016 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in Sheboygan Falls. He was 91 years old. Lloyd was born October 10, 1925 in Hingham, the son of Harvard and Della (nee Ebbers) Tenpas. On March 14, 1952, he was united in marriage with Marjorie Berenschot in Cedar Grove. The couple resided in Cedar Grove where Lloyd began Lloyd's Drive-In. From 1954 until 1979, he owned and operated the restaurant. In 1979, he went to work for Rockwell Automation in Mequon, retiring in 2008.
Lloyd was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Sheboygan. In his younger years, Lloyd traveled the county renting out rollerskates for rollerskating events at local town halls. Lloyd enjoyed woodworking, making small toys and cars. He was an avid sports fan, and enjoyed watching the Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers.
Lloyd is survived by his wife Marjorie and their children: Steven Tenpas and Sue (Bill) Lorenz, all of Sheboygan. He is further survived by his grandchildren: Courtney (Ryan) Thorson of Rockford, MN, Erik Lorenz of Sheboygan and Kelsey Lorenz of Green Bay, great-grandchild Emery Thorson, twin brother Floyd Tenpas of Sheboygan Falls, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his brother Norman Tenpas.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Grace Presbyterian Church, 4930 Green Valley Lane in Sheboygan. Pastor Brian De Jong will officiate. The family will receive visitors at the church on Saturday from 9:45 a.m. - 11 a.m. He will be laid to rest at Cedar Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested.
