Lois Pfingsten, 88, passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at Sheboygan Progressive Health Care Center, eleven days before her 89th birthday. Lois was born February 21, 1926 in Milwaukee. She grew up in Denmark, WI, attending local public schools and graduating from Denmark High School, Class of 1946. On July 19, 1947 Lois Sobieck and Norbert Pfingsten were united in marriage in Denmark, WI, at All Saints Church, after which they moved to Sheboygan in 1951 to raise their family. Together, Lois and Norbert spent their retirement in Florida, returning to Sheboygan in 2009 to be with their family again. Norbert preceded her in death on June 23, 2014. Lois enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, doing crafts, taking walks and chatting with her friends, and playing Bingo. She especially enjoyed her time with the family dog, Botchie. Lois is survived by her children, Caroline (Clint) Messner of Sheboygan, Norb (Carol) Pfingsten of Howards Grove, Deb (Steve) Boll of Sheboygan, Cindy Pfingsten of Sheboygan, LuAnn Pfingsten of Sheboygan, Toni (Adam) Speckman of Sheboygan, Patty Pfingsten of Colorado, Penny McKinster of Sheboygan Falls; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Jim Johanek of Denmark; and many other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Norbert, she was preceded in death by her sister, Bernice Johanek; her aunt, Evelyn Rosek of whom she had a close relationship with; and several other relatives and friends. In accordance with Lois' wishes, a private celebration of life will be held at a later date. The family of Lois would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff and caregivers at Sheboygan Progressive Healthcare Center for the care and compassion shown to her.
