. Loraine M. Ertel, age 87, of Sheboygan, passed away Friday morning, January 9, 2015 at Countryside Manor. She was born November 20, 1927 in West Bend to Walter and Angeline (Bohne) Strean. She was previously married to Wilbert Rosenthal. For a number of years Loraine was employed at Hi Tran in Waubeka. She married John Ertel on August 31, 1985. He preceded her in death on April 17, 1990. Following his death Loraine moved to Merrill, WI. She moved back to Sheboygan in March of 2011. Loraine was a faithful member of Jehovah's Witnesses in Sheboygan. She loved reading, working jigsaw puzzles, watching NASCAR (her favorite racer was Kevin Harvick who won the championship this year) Green Bay Packer football, but especially spending great times with her family. (This included her one beer at meals with them!) Loraine is survived by her children, Jackie Brion of Sheboygan, Jim (Jodi) Rosenthal of Jackson, WI., Jerry (Barbara) Rosenthal of Fillmore, WI, Jesse Rosenthal of Sheboygan, and Judy Rosenthal of Sheboygan Falls; twelve grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Leo and Rosie Strean and a sister and brother-in-law, June and Leo Bertram. A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 26, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 3328 North Ave., Sheboygan. Elder Terry Kohls will officiate. A memorial fund has been established in her name. Loraine's family would like to thank the staff at Countryside Manor and Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for their kindness and care. Loraine will always be remembered for her kind heart, her smile, and never having a harsh word for anyone. She will be dearly missed.
