Lorraine E. Beers, of Sheboygan and formerly of Columbus, WI, passed away Saturday evening, August 19, 2017 at Sheboygan Senior Community. She was 90 loving years young.
Lorraine was born April 22, 1927, the daughter of Louis and Esther (nee Klug) Stenberg. She graduated from Columbus High School. On October 20, 1945, she was united in marriage to Harvey J. Pluim in Columbus. The couple raised their family in Columbus, where Lorraine worked as a CNA for the Poser Clinic. Harvey preceded her in death in July of 1966. On June 1, 1999, she was united in marriage with Tom Beers in Sedona, AZ. The couple lived an active, adventurous lifestyle between Scottsdale and Columbus. He preceded her in death in February of 2003.
Lorraine had been a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Columbus. She enjoyed bowling, gardening, canning and the Packers. After Tom's passing, Lorraine moved back to Wisconsin to be closer to her family. She loved her Friday nights out with her friends, steaks on the grill at her grandson's house, a good game of cards and a great old fashioned....not necessarily in that order. Her great-granddaughters loved her sparkle and bling, both inside and out. They couldn't help but smile and laugh when they were around their GiGi.
Lorraine is survived by her daughter Pat Foote of Sheboygan and her grandson Mike (Deanna) Russ, also of Sheboygan. She is further survived by her great-granddaughters Emily and Hannah Russ, brothers and sisters-in-law, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husbands Harvey Pluim and Tom Beers, son John L. Pluim, and her sisters Leone McKay and Mary Ann Hatzinger.
