Marcia Houten

Marcia K. Van Houten age 71, found peace and went home to be with her Lord on Friday, April 1, 2016. She was born February 23, 1945 in Grand Rapids, MI to parents James and Sarah (Oegema) Van Houten. Marcia was a 1963 graduate of Grand Rapids Central High School. She moved to Sheboygan in 1967. Marcia worked at Vinyl Plastics as a machine operator for many years before retiring.
Marcia enjoyed traveling, visiting different countries and exploring Wisconsin. She was an avid Packer fan. Marcia also had an extensive elephant collection.
Marcia is survived by her partner Karen Knocke; two brothers, Vic (Marilyn) Van Houten and Jim (Sylvia) Van Houten; one sister, Dorine (Doug) Harris; sisters-in-law, Lorraine and Lillian Van Houten. Also survived by special friends, Robert and Lucy Matzner, Marjorie Noel, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Marcia was also friends with Bill W. for over 25 years. Marcia was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Charlie and Phil.
A time of visitation and support will be held on Thursday, April 7 from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Ballhorn Chapels Funeral and Cremation Care Center, 1201 N. 8Street, Sheboygan. In lieu of flowers, any donations will be sent in Marcia' s name to help with dementia/alzheimers research. The family would like to thank the staff at Sheboygan Senior Community for their care and support.
