Maria Guajardo

Maria L. Guajardo, age 68, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 7, 2021.

Maria was born on August 10, 1952, to Lorenzo Guajardo and Eglantina Diaz Guajardo in Brownsville, TX. She graduated from Brownsville High School. After high school graduation, Maria studied at South Texas Vocational Institute. Early in Maria’s career, she explored several different professions from security guard, nightclub manager, a convenience store manager to being an excellent homemaker.

Maria was a woman with many skills and a lot of knowledge. If something needed to be done, she could do it – no questions asked.

Maria worked many jobs over her lifetime but for the majority of her time in Wisconsin, she worked as a custodial manager for MetroClean Inc. which later became known as Mahler Clean. She made many connections and friends along the way.  After nearly 15 years in the custodial profession, she retired.

Maria loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much. She spent as much time with them as she could. She enjoyed family gatherings and spending time with all her loved ones.

Maria will be dearly missed and is survived by her mother, Eglantina Diaz Guajardo; 5 brothers and 3 sisters; her four children, Esmeralda (Marcelo) De La Cruz, Bryan C. Guajardo, Krystal (Arturo) Guajardo-Torres, and Priscilla (Matthew) Rysewyk; her grandchildren, Amber (Nathan) Peterson, Stephanie De La Cruz (Mason Stauss), Karlos De La Cruz, Daniel & Emily Rysewyk, Gianna & Christian Torres and Briana Guajardo;  her great-grandchildren, Sophia Lynn DeLaCruz-Wagner, Mason Elijah Peterson, and Xavier Scott Stauss; many other relatives and friends.

Maria was preceded in death by her grandfather Raul Guajardo, her father, Lorenzo Guajardo; her brothers Reynaldo Guajardo, Juan Gabriel Diaz, her niece Mercedes Guajardo, nephew Reynaldo Villarreal and her long-term partner Pablo Flores Jr.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 25th, 2021, at 1:00 PM at Ballhorn Chapels in Sheboygan with Deacon Mike Burch officiating.

A public visitation will be held from 12:00 PM until the time of the service.
