Marian Toerpe

Marian Emily Toerpe, age 94, was called home to eternal peace with her Savior on Friday, December 5, 2014 at Golden Living Center. Marian was the daughter of Otto and Meta (Wuestenhagen) Hilbert, born on November 19, 1920. She graduated from North High School and Sheboygan Business College, and she worked as a bookkeeper at Geele Hardware Company. She married Raymond W. Toerpe in 1947. Marian was a faithful member of St. Mark Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir, attended Bible class, and taught Sunday school for 25 years. She was an excellent cook and baker, and she loved taking care of her family. Marian also enjoyed sewing and needlework as well as gardening. Marian is survived by her daughter, Raylene (Charlie) Wauda of Appleton; a sister-in-law, Helen Toerpe, cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, and her parents. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at St. Mark Lutheran Church. Rev. Brett Matz, Pastor, will officiate. A time of visitation and support will be held at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her name for St. Mark Lutheran Church. Her family wishes to thank her friend and neighbor, Marlene, for her faithful visits.
