Marie Thieme

Marie K. Thieme, 85, of Sheboygan, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 4, 2015 at home. Marie was born July 29, 1929 in Sheboygan to Jimmie and Katherine (Acker) Bauman. She attended Sheboygan grade schools and was a graduate of Sheboygan Central High School, class of 1947. She then had a brief but exciting career as an acrobat with her best friend Julianna Wangemann-Klima traveling the southern states with an aerial act. On November 27, 1948 she married Arno F. Thieme and became a homemaker and mother. He preceded her in death in 2000. Marie is survived by her five children, Susan (Richard) Zavrl, Michael Thieme, Mark (Deann) Thieme, Shelly (Mike) Lauters, and Jon (Beth) Thieme; four grandchildren, Jaeson (Teresa) Thieme, Tara Thieme, Andrew (Fiance, Stephanie), and Eric (Significant other, Kristie); and a great-grandson, Matthew Thieme. She is further survived by her half brothers and half sister, Robert Gustafson, Arnie Gustafson, and Charlene Weiskopf whom she raised as her own. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arno, of 52 years and her eldest son, Steve, in 2007. As per Marie's wishes a private family gathering was held. Marie's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the caregivers, Maureen and Kelly, of St. Nicholas Home, Health, & Hospice, but especially to Sara Lehmann for the care and compassion shown to her.
