Marion Fischer

Marion E. Fischer, 92, of Sheboygan, passed away on, Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at Sheboygan Progressive Care Center. She was born in 1924 in Sheboygan to Edward and Martha (Roop) Minster. Marion attended Sheboygan Public Schools, and graduated from Sheboygan North High School with the class of 1942. On November 4, 1944 she was united in marriage to the love of her life Harold Peter Fischer at St. Luke United Methodist Church in Sheboygan. He preceded her in death on October 27, 1990.
Marion was a bookkeeper for Van Der Vaart Building Supply for 32 years retiring in 1986. She had a very strong faith, was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church wore many hats by working in the office, singing in the choir, and helping with the various rummage sales and other church functions. She also enjoyed her volunteer work with St. Nicholas Hospital and the reading program at James Madison Elementary School.
Marion is survived by her daughter Christine Fischer of Madison, nieces Mary (Kent) Orton of Texas, Nancy Hanson of Sturgeon Bay and Laurie (Jerry) Hoppe of Shawano, nephew Terry (Chris) Fleck of Milwaukee, and special friends Lynda and Steve Larson of Sheboygan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harold, and sisters Elinor (Ernie) Zill and Ruth (Christ) Fleck.
A Celebration of Marion's Life will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 2:00 PM at St. Luke United Methodist Church, 623 Ontario Ave., Sheboygan with Pastors Ric Olson, Kathy Reid and Cindy Thompson officiating. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Saturday, August 20, 2016 from 1:00 PM until the time of service at the CHURCH.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Luke United Methodist Church in Marion's name.
