Marjorie Mihm

April 2, 1927 — October 30, 2014

Marjorie M. Mihm, age 87, of Sheboygan, passed away Thursday morning, October 30, 2014 after a short stay at Countryside Manor. She was born April 2, 1927 in Sheboygan to John and Frances (Mallmann) Hess. She attended St. Dominic Catholic Grade School and Sheboygan Vocational School. On September 10, 1947 Marjorie and Kenneth Mihm were united in marriage. He preceded her in death on December 30, 1991. For a number of years Marjorie was employed at Luedke's Meat Market and Johnny's Supper Club. Later she worked at America's Choice Restaurant and finally as a greeter at Walmart. She was a former member of St. George's Catholic Parish in Elkhart Lake where she and Kenneth helped with communion distribution and Marjorie was a member of Christian Mother's Society. Currently she was a member of Ss. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Parish. Marjorie enjoyed golfing, bowling, traveling and camping with her family. She was also an excellent homemaker who loved baking and cooking. Marjorie is survived by her children, Cheryl (Terry) Prahl of Glenbeulah, Connie (Tom) Van Hammond, Gary (Janet) Mihm, and Kenneth (Cindalynne) Mihm, Jr. all of Sheboygan; ten grandchildren, Terra (Daniel) Prahl-Hubacek, Peter Prahl, John (special friend, Sheri) Van Hammond, James (Bryn) Van Hammond, Nicholas (special friend, Nicki) Van Hammond, David (Tammy) Mihm, Laurie (Lyle) Kelling, Josh (Kaurie) Mihm, Jake (Jenn) Mihm, and Holly (special friend, John) Mihm; eleven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marion Nelson of Sheboygan and Delores Plesetz of West Covina, CA; one sister-in-law, Betty Hess of Johnsburg, Illinois; and other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband, Kenneth, she was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 Noon on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at Ss. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church. Rev. Paul Fliss, Pastor, will be the Celebrant. A time of visitation and support will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. A memorial fund has been established in her name for Alzheimer's research. Marjorie's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the caregivers at Countryside Manor and to the staff at Hospice Advantage for all their work and for the compassionate care they gave to her.
