Marjorie Voechting

Marjorie C. Voechting, age 84, of Sheboygan, died Monday morning, December 29, 2014 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's. She was born September 4, 1930 in Sheboygan to Arno and Anita Schaap. She was a graduate of Sheboygan Central High School. On July 4, 1954 Marjorie and Oscar "Ozzie" W. Voechting, Jr. were united in marriage. He preceded her in death on July 13, 2012. For a number of years Marge was employed as a switchboard operator at Wigwam Mills and later part time at The Sheboygan Press until her retirement in 1994. She enjoyed handcrafting and painting ceramic ware which she marketed to local vendors. Marge is survived by her son, Brian Voechting of Sheboygan; nephews and nieces, Jerry (Marilee) Voechting of Manitowoc, Jane (Virgil) Wanezek of Sheboygan, Wendy (John) Roth of Manitowoc, Kaylynn (Kevin) Sonnenberg of Manitowoc, William (Joan) Roenitz of Glenview, IL, and Richard (Lynn) Roenitz of Sheboygan; and her best friends, Connie Kuether and Fern Lemahieu that stood beside her through the years and were at her side upon death. In addition to her parents and husband, Marge was preceded in death by her sister, Carol Roenitz A gathering in celebration of Marge's life will be held Friday, January 2, 2015 at Ballhorn Funeral Chapels from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. A memorial fund has been established in her name.
