Martha Herzog

Martha Herzog (nee Wiegand), age 80, Of Sheboygan, passed away at St. Luke's Medical Center in Milwaukee on Thursday, September 29, 2016 from complications of surgery. She was born May 9, 1936 in Sheboygan, a daughter of the late David and Elizabeth (Reimer) Wiegand.

Martha attended Trinity Lutheran Grade School and was a 1954 graduate of Central High School. She was employed at various Sheboygan area companies, retiring from Bemis Manufacturing in 1998. Martha met Alan while working at Verifine Dairy, later they were married on September 27, 1958 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sheboygan. She was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Sheboygan.

An avid cook and gardener, Martha's specialty was Fleischbrot. Every Monday she would make bread, and another favorite were her homemade noodles. She loved vegetable and flower gardening. Martha enjoyed traveling and was an annual visitor to the Sheboygan Haunted House. She enjoyed Bingo and bowling, and was a regular with the Wednesday morning Senior League at Lakeshore Lanes. Martha enjoyed her time with friends at the Sheboygan Senior Center, playing poker, and she volunteered as an Usher at the Stephanie Wiel Center. Her grandkids were her life, and was a very special Gramma to Trenton and Heather.

Surviving Martha is her loving husband Alan; three daughters, Nancy L. Herzog, Mary B. (Patrick) Eissner and Sara G. Herzog, all of Sheboygan; two grandchildren, Trenton and Heather Eissner, and one sister, Wilma (Ken) Allwardt of Kaukauna. In addition to her parents, Martha was also preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters; Emma Hermann, Marie Sprengel, Edwin, Esther, Henry and Carl Wiegand, Betty Brand.

A Funeral Service will be conducted for Martha on Tuesday October 4, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. at Ballhorn Chapels Funeral & Cremation Care Center. Reverend Timothy Mech, officiating. Friends may call at Ballhorns on Tuesday from 3 p.m. until the time of service. Private committal will be held at the Gardens of Peace, Greenlawn Memorial Park.

A memorial fund has been established in the name of Martha Herzog.
