Marvin E. Schmitz, 79, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away with his family by his side on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at Sunny Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Sheboygan, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born November 15, 1942, in Chilton, to the late Clarence and Josephine (Halbach) Schmitz.
Marvin worked at the Kohler Company for over 40 years and retired in 2007. He enjoyed gardening, golfing, fishing, listening to music, playing Sheepshead and playing lawn jarts. Marvin was an avid fan of the Milwaukee Bucks, Milwaukee Brewers, Green Bay Packers, and Wisconsin Badgers.
His family was his pride and joy, he loved spending time with them creating lasting memories, and loved to be in the stands cheering on his grandchildren at their sporting events.
Marvin is survived by his daughters, Dawn (Todd) Fredricks, Jennifer (Kevin) Weisfeld, grandchildren; Carmen (Scott) Morgan, Ryan Kaminski, Kyle Fredricks, Seth Weisfeld, and Paige Weisfeld, great-grandchildren; Karissa Kaminski, Kamryn Kaminski, Jackson Frank, Emily Morgan, and Kenslee Brandon, son-in-law Michael Herm, brothers and sisters; Shirley Wasmer, Glenroy (MarJean “Mittie”) Schmitz, Joan (Eugene) Scholz, Carol Joas, LeRoy Schmitz, Allen (Debbie) Schmitz, and Linda Wagner, two sisters in law; Romilda “Millie” Schmitz, and Anna Mae Schmitz. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Denise Herm, brothers and sisters; Kenneth (Agnes) Schmitz, Janet Schmitz, Donald Schmitz, Mary Schmitz, and Gerald Schmitz, sisters-in-law MarJean Schmitz, and brothers-in-law William Joas and Alan Wagner.
A private Celebration of Life will be held for the immediate family.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff and nurses at Sunny Ridge and Sharon S. Richardson Hospice for their care, compassion and support.
