Marvin Schrader

Marvin A. Schrader, age 78, of Sheboygan, went home to his Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 27, 2014. He was born November 17, 1936 in Medford, WI to Arthur and Florence (Buell) Schrader. He was a graduate of Dorchester High School, Class of 1954 and received his undergraduate degree from UW-River Falls. Marvin also held degrees from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, UW-Stout, and earned a doctorate degree from Nova University in Florida. On May 28, 1960 Marvin and Janet Abegglen were united in marriage in Stetsonville, WI. Marvin began his career teaching agriculture and science at Fairchild High School and later taught chemistry at Manitowoc High School. In 1970 he took a position at Lakeshore Technical College and finished his career there as Curriculum and Research Director, retiring in 2000. Marvin was a faithful, active member of The Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer. He thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors, especially landscaping, gardening, fishing with his family, hunting and bike riding. Following retirement, Marvin and Janet enjoyed spending winters in Mesa, AZ. In addition to his loving wife, Janet, he is survived by his children, Daryl (Arlene) Schrader of Oak Creek, WI, Cynthia (John) Archuleta of Albuquerque, NM, and David (Amy) Schrader of Sheboygan; six grandchildren, Britni, Taylor, Calian, Travis, Logan, and Brayden; one sister, Donna Mae (Donald) Graffunder of Medford, WI; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at The Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, 3027 Wilgus Avenue, Sheboygan. Rev. Brian Osladil, Pastor, will officiate. A time of visitation and support will be held at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Lutheran Cemetery.
