Mary Arant, formerly of De Pere, died peacefully on June 13, 2014 in Sheboygan. She was born October 13, 1922 in Dubuque, IA, to the late Frank and Florence (Loes) Schlueter. On November 13, 1943 she married John Arant in Chicago, IL. Mary was a graduate of UW Green Bay and taught at St. Joseph Elementary School for many years. She maintained friendships with both parents and students after she retired. She loved being with her family, reading and chocolate. Mary is survived by her son John of Winnemucca, NV; Melinda Stengel of Chicago, IL; Mary Anne (Tom) Delacenserie of Tallahassee, FL; Tony (Sally) of Farmers Branch, TX; Phil (Nancy) of Rochester, MN; Tom of Montreal, Canada; Steve (Linda) of Sheboygan and Mike of Manitowoc, 21 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She is further survived by her brother Jim Schlueter of Green Bay and sister Lois Nicks of De Pere. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Marna, and sisters Carolyn Schlueter OSF, Cecile Schlueter OSF, Anna Mae Nicks, sister-in-law Pat Schlueter and brother-in-law Melvin Nicks. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 2720 Henry St., Sheboygan on Monday, June 23, at 11:00 AM with Fr. Richard Cerpich presiding. Friends and family are invited to join together at the church at 10:00 AM to reminisce about Mary and her amazing life. Donations are welcome in Mary's name to Salvation Army.
