Mary Gabrielse

Mary A. Gabrielse, 83, of Sheboygan, was called to her Lord and Savior on Friday, February 5, 2021.  She was born April 15, 1937 in Sheboygan to Jacob and Gertrude (Otte) Den Boer.  Mary attended Sheboygan Christian School and graduated from North High School.

On April 18, 1958 she was united in marriage to Cornelius Gabrielse at First Christian Reformed Church.  They were blessed with four children: Pamela (Scott) Otten, Peggy (Michael) Biesboer, Amy (John) Harmelink and Todd (Jodi) Gabrielse.

Mary had a strong faith; she was a member of First Christian Reformed Church (now Christ Community Church) and Bethany Reformed Church.  Mary was active in the church, both singing in the choir and as a Calvinette Leader.

Mary worked as the office manager for Dr. Roger Wilke for over 20 years before her retirement.  She enjoyed music, which included singing and playing clarinet and piano.  Mary also enjoyed counted cross stitch, reading, gardening, bird watching and baking.

In addition to her husband and children, Mary is survived by her grandchildren; Nathan (Lynae) Otten, Jacob (Alyssa) Otten, Benjamin Otten, Elise Biesboer, Christopher Biesboer, Brendan (Kimberly) Biesboer, Gregory Biesboer, Kyle (Kristen) Batkiewicz, Kendra (Joe) Neuville, Vanessa (David) Hobbs, and Alyssa (Alexander Mueller) Gabrielse, two step-grandchildren; Jennifer (Nate) Bichler and Joshua (Andrea) Harmelink, ten great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and her brother Jacob (Connie) Den Boer. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Koreda Hoerz, and brother-in-law David Hoerz.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, Mary’s memorial service will be livestreamed on her obituary page at www.ballhornchapels.com, on Sunday, February 7, 2021 at 2:00PM.  If you are not able to join us at that time, it will be there for your viewing after services as well.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sheboygan Christian School in Mary’s name.
