Mary Lou Grundl, 84, of Elkhart Lake, passed away Sunday, December 29, 2013 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. Mary was born June 10, 1929 in Milwaukee to the late Hubert and Esther (Anderson) Peterson. On August 7, 1948, she married Thomas Grundl at St. Francis Catholic Church in Milwaukee. He preceded her in death on May 24, 2006. The couple lived in Milwaukee for 30 years. In 1979 they moved to the Elkhart Lake area. Mary Lou was a dedicated mother, devout Catholic and a Captain of the Annual Fatima Rosary Rally. Mary Lou is survived by her nine children, Corinne Pedriana of Milwaukee, Robert (Pearl) Grundl of Town of Rhine, Jo Anne (Randall) Vreeke of Kaukauna, John Grundl of Elkhart Lake, Therese (Lino) Janssen-Autiero of Sheboygan, Joseph (Deanna) Grundl of Kiel, Pauline Alten of Fallbrook, CA, Gregory (Tamieka) Grundl of Newark, Delaware, Mary Anne (Robert) Burke of Greenfield; all of her grandchildren and great - grandchildren and her sisters and brother. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Mary Lou Saturday, January 4, 2014, at 10:30 A.M. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Elkhart Lake. The Very Reverend Dan Volkert will be the Celebrant. Friends may call on Friday from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Zimmer's Westview Funeral & Cremation Care Center, and at church on Saturday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of service. Burial will follow services at St. Thomas Aquinas North Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established in her name.
