Mary Herber

Mary O. Herber age 98, passed away peacefully with family with her at Rocky Knoll on Friday, June 24, 2016. She was born September 1, 1917 in Sumatra, Montana, to parents Frank and Olivia (Hecker) Burkart. Mary attended school in Montana. On September 26, 1939 she married Frank Herber Jr. at Saint George Church, Elkhart Lake. Mary worked at St. Nicholas Hospital in the kitchen. She was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church in Sheboygan and the Christian Mothers Society.
Mary is survived by two daughters, Shirley (Myron) Jochmann; of Valders, and Judy (Gary) Gast; of Sheboygan; two grandchildren, Wally (Renee) Froh and Kathy Koceja; seven great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Anna (Lawrence) Kohlmann of Glenbeulah and nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were an infant daughter Mary, husband Frank; parents, Frank and Olivia Burkhart; grandson, Warren Froh; four brothers, Francis, Leo, Art and Joe; two sisters, Rose Poch and Catherine Schaefer.
A time of visitation and support will be held at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 2113 N. 22nd Street, on Thursday, June 30 from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 PM with Fr. Phil Reifenberg presiding. Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Rocky Knoll for their loving care for the past four years. A special thank you to her great-granddaughter Heather Kuehlmann for all the special care she gave her.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being set up in her name.
