Mary L. Smith

Mary L. Smith, age 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Monday, August 14, 2023, at Aurora Medical Center.

She was born on September 2, 1937, in Sheboygan to the late Benedict and Eleanore (Blinkovitz) Fetterer. On October 6, 1956, Mary married Donald Smith at Holy Name Catholic Church in Sheboygan. He preceded her in death on June 8, 2019.

Mary was a kind and gentle soul. She was an amazing mother to her four daughters and enjoyed making memories with her grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Sheryl Mandel, Tracy (Bob) Cote, Donna (Mike) Ross and Kelly (Peter) Falk; grandchildren, Calvin (Olivia) Cote, Shane Cote, Aaron (Breann) Mandel, Jarred Mandel, and Noah Mandel, Madelyn and Alli Ross, and Sophia Falk and a great-grandchildren, Hudson Ross and Cash Mandel; a sister, Dorothy Hankel. Other friends and family further survive.

Along with her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by eight brothers and two sisters.

A Celebration of Life for Mary will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at Ballhorn Chapels Funeral and Cremation Care Center, 1201 N 8^th St. in Sheboygan. Family will greet visitors from 2:30 PM until 4:30 PM. Mary will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Mary’s name.

The family would like to thank the staff and the hospice team at Aurora Medical Center for the excellent care given to Mary. They would also like to thank family and friends for the many calls, prayers, and support offered during this difficult time.
