Mary Wege

Mary J. Van De Wege age 78, passed away on Sunday, October 12, 2014. She was born January 31, 1936 in Sheboygan to parents Daniel and Jeannette (Vreeke) Van De Wege. Mary graduated from Sheboygan North High School in 1954. She served as a secretary for the public schools for 40 years until her retirement in 1993. In retirement she served as a "grandma" for Mother's Bible Study class at First Christian Reformed Church for many years. For 15 years she participated in Crossroad Bible Institute through the church. Mary enjoyed counted cross stitching and her family treasures many of her works. She also traveled with many of her close friends. Her greatest pleasure was being an aunt and great-aunt. Mary is survived by a brother, Earl (Shirley) Van De Wege, McHenry, IL; two nieces, Christine (Jeff Batt) Van De Wege, Oak Brook, IL, Cheryl (Jeff Kennel) Van De Wege, Sandy Hook, CT; six great-nephews, Nathan, Matthew, Will Christian, Rhodes, Jackson and Sammuel, also survived by numerous cousins and good friends. Preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Donald. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 15 at Christ Community Church, 428 Geele Avenue from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM. Funeral Service at the church at 12 Noon with Pastor Larry Meyer presiding. Burial will occur on Wednesday at 2:30 PM at Wildwood Cemetery. Memorials are appreciated to the Crossroads Bible Institute.
