Merrill Bud Loose, age 91, of Sheboygan Falls, went home to his Lord and Savior and joined his beloved wife, Mary Jane, on Wednesday morning, March 9, 2016.
He was born October 19, 1924 in Sheboygan Falls to Carl and Ella (Tupper) Loose. He was a graduate of Sheboygan Falls High School, Class of 1942. During WWII Bud served his country in the US Army in the European Theatre of Operations. He later received an award from the French government for his efforts during the war.
On May 14, 1949 Bud and Mary Jane Rasmussen were united in marriage at Faith Methodist Church in Sheboygan Falls. After nearly fifty years of marriage, Mary Jane preceded him in death on July 10, 2008.
For thirty-eight years Bud was employed at Kohler Co., retiring in 1987. He was a member of the Kohler Quarter Century Club.
Bud was a longtime member of St. Luke United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Sheboygan Falls American Legion Post #149.
Bud took great pride in maintaining his yard and home. He and Mary Jane enjoyed traveling extensively and taking daily walks in Sheboygan Falls as well as swimming at the area pools. Bud also liked watching old movies and listening to country music. Later he enjoyed getting together with his McDonalds buddies for morning coffee. He loved family celebrations and always came with a healthy appetite.
He is survived by three sons, Jeff (Pat) Loose of Port Washington, Brad (Kim) Loose, of Oostburg, and Pete (Sandy) Loose of Waukesha; eight grandchildren, J.J. (Tanya) Loose, Ben (Amy Gannon) Loose all of Port Washington, Andy (Katie) Loose of West Bend, Christopher Loose of Sheboygan Falls, Ryan Loose of Sheboygan, Brent Loose of Oostburg, Nelson Loose of Jackson, and Erik Loose of New Berlin; eight great-grandchildren, Drake, Ava, Callen, Brooklyn, Emersyn, Morgan, Jazmyn, and Jaxson; his brother-in-law, Howard (Jean) Rasmussen of Sheboygan Falls; and other relatives and friends.
In addition to his wife, Mary Jane, he was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Myrtle (Joe) Kohlhagen; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Maxine (Cliff) Foesch and Betty (John) Rusch.
In honoring Buds wishes, private family graveside services with full military honors will be held at Sheboygan Falls Cemetery. Rev. Ric Olson, Pastor of St. Luke United Methodist Church, will officiate.
A memorial fund has been established in his name for the Sheboygan Falls American Legion Post #149.
