Michael Stockdale, of Sheboygan, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, March 2, 2017 at his home in the arms of his wife. He was 58 years old.
Michael was born June 9, 1958 in Cortez, CO, the son of Charles and Peggy (nee Watson) Stockdale. He graduated from Montezuma-Cortez High School in 1976, and went on to study at Colorado State and Lakeland College. Michael proudly served his country in the United States Air Force Reserve. On October 10, 1981, he was united in marriage with Beth Paulus in Thiensville, WI. The couple resided in San Diego, CA before moving to Sheboygan in 1985.
Michael was a field service engineer, most recently for Diagnostica Stago. He had a giving heart full of love, and gave generously of his time and talents. He enjoyed golfing, skiing, exploring the outdoors, camping with family and friends and was always open to a spontaneous adventure. He was proud to have visited all 50 states in his travels, and valued precious time spent with his family and friends. He was proud of his two sons and their accomplishments, and was excited to gain two daughters-in-law.
Michael is survived by his wife Beth and their sons Steve (Veronica) Stockdale of Sheboygan and Daniel (fiancé Anna Gushue) of Wheaton, IL. He is further survived by his parents Charles and Peggy of Sun City West, AZ, his sister Stephanie (John) Berger and their daughters Aubrey and Avery of Aurora, CO, his sister-in-law Debra (Earl) Schoenrock of Mequon, aunts and uncle: Saundra Davies, Jon (Dee) Stockdale and Cindy (Clay) Dickson, all of Cortez, CO, cousins, other relatives and many, many friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at 5:30 pm on Monday, March 6, 2017 at First United Lutheran Church, 2401 Kohler Memorial Drive in Sheboygan. The family will receive visitors at the church on Monday from 3-5:30pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested in Michael's name.
The family would like to thank Dr. Matthews and Dr. Kerpe, and their wonderful, supportive staff for all of the care Mike received.
