Mildred Ehlers

August 31, 1918 — April 28, 2016

Mildred Millie Ehlers, 97, left this world to join her husband, Loren and her granddaughter, Crystal on Thursday morning, April 28, 2016 while a patient at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.

Millie was born on August 31, 1918 in the Town of Sheboygan Falls, the daughter of Alfred Hulda Laack. She attended Holden School and was a graduate of Plymouth High School, Class of 1936.

On May 16, 1941 she was united in marriage to Loren Ehlers at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan. He preceded her in death on April 24, 2001.

Millie was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Sharon (William) Goebel of Sheboygan Falls; two sons, Gene (Sheila) Ehlers of Winona, MN and Lynn (Jacque) Ehlers of Poplar Grove, IL; five grandchildren, Thomas (Christina) Ehlers of St. Michael, MN, Timothy (Stephanie) Ehlers of Hanover, MN, Daniel Goebel of Grafton, WI, Heidi (Mark) Stiegler of Brookfield, WI and Joseph (Jenelle) Ehlers of Rosco, IL; eleven great-grandchildren, Kayla Hammes of Chicago, IL, Josie Hammes of New Berlin, WI, Lauren and Connor Ehlers of Hanover, MN, Jessie and Max Goebel of Grafton, WI, Gabrielle and Hannah Ehlers of St. Michael, MN, Jackson and Ava Ehlers of Rosco, IL and Finley Stiegler of Brookfield, WI; and her special friends, Maria Greger and Jim and Carol Baumgart.

In addition to her husband, Loren, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Crystal Hammes; her brother, Raymond Laack; and her sister, Bernice Raeder.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 1, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at Ballhorn Funeral Chapels. Rev. Christian Gugel, Pastor of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, will officiate. A time of visitation and support will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her name.

Millies family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the outstanding staff at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice and Dr. Kumar and his staff at Lombardi Clinic for their care and support.
