Mitchel D. Gort

 Mitchel D. Gort was born in Sheboygan on September 15, 1958 to the late Theunis “Ted” and Elaine (Fladland) Gort. He passed away in Sheboygan Falls on Wednesday, December 18, 2024. 

Mitch, born with Down syndrome, was always young at heart. He was a happy out-going person, always excited to see you – and if he didn’t know you, he would know you soon with his big smile, outstretched hand and his “Hi! I’m Mitchel.” 

His birthday excited him all year round and it was always coming up soon – on September 15th! Mitch was a kind soul – full of love and still a child when he died at the age of 66. 

In his younger days, Mitch was an avid bowler. He was also a “BIG” Packers fan – and let’s not forget the Brewers and the Bucks. 

He will be very much missed, but our consolation is that his mom, dad, and big brother Mike will be there to greet him. 

Mitch enjoyed the friendship of many people over the years at church, RCS, VistaCare, Homes for Independent Living and the Paragon day program. 

Mitch was particularly proud to be “Uncle Mitch” to Andrew, Robin, Ian and Claire. 

He was survived by his brother Dale; sisters-in-law Jean and Linda; and many other relatives and friends. 

Mitch will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
