Nancy Otten

Nancy J. Otten, formerly of Sheboygan, passed away Sunday evening, October 1, 2017 at Rocky Knoll Health Care Center in Plymouth where she had resided the last 6 years. She was 65 years old.

Nancy was born April 23, 1952 in Sheboygan, the third of seven children born to Henry and Verda (nee Kopetsky) Otten. She attended school in Sheboygan, graduating from Sheboygan South High School in 1971.

Nancy was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Sheboygan, and served as the secretary of the Resident Life Council at Rocky Knoll. She was very creative, and enjoyed knitting, painting, photography and other group art projects. She was a social butterfly and loved visiting and helping other residents, entertaining guests, and visits from pets. She helped organize the Razzle Bedazzle Club at Rocky Knoll, encouraging everyone to wear sparkly clothing on Fridays. Anyone passing by her room was greeted with a smile, and sometimes a stuffed animal.

She is survived by her mother Verda of Sheboygan and her siblings: Judith (John) O'Brien of Fond du Lac, Susan (Francesco) Milana of Amelia Island, FL, Mark Otten of Vero Beach, FL, Karen (Steve) Schievelbein of Vero Beach, FL and Thomas (Kathleen) Otten of Rochester, MN. She is further survived by her niece and nephews: Cassandra Otten, Gregg Arends, Zachary Otten, Jason Otten and Cristian Milana, beloved family pets, and many dear friends at Rocky Knoll.

She was preceded in death by her father Henry and her brother Richard.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, October 13, 2017 at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 807 Superior Ave. in Sheboygan. The family will receive visitors at the church on Friday from 10:00 - 11:00 am. She will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in Sheboygan following mass.
