Nancy Ann Renzelmann, 68, of Louisville, KY, formerly of Sheboygan, passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at Baptist Health Hospital in Louisville, KY. Nancy was born January 11, 1949, in Sheboygan to Phillip and Shirley (Fett) Hermann. She graduated from Sheboygan South High School, with the class of 1967.
Most recently, she worked as a caregiver for Home Instead. She loved her coworkers and tremendously enjoyed the opportunity to provide companionship and care to her clients, for whom she cared very deeply.
She was a strong and remarkable woman who had a wonderful sense of humor, and a deep and abiding love for her family and her many friends. She also dearly loved the many animals she parented over her lifetime, most recently her Gordon and Lewellyn Setters, Mackinzie and Duncan.
Since July 2016, Nancy had lived with her son, Jason Renzelmann, daughter-in-law, Jill Perry, and grandson, Alex, in Louisville, KY, during which time she received, and recovered from, a bone marrow stem cell transplant at the Brown Cancer Center, at the University of Louisville Hospital.
She beat her cancer and worked extremely hard to regain her strength and return home to Sheboygan following her transplant. Her passing was unexpected, but peaceful, and she was surrounded by her family.
Nancy is survived by her son, daughter-in-law, and grandson, as well as her sisters Sharron Sixel and Barbara Hermann. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and her many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Phillip and Shirley.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 1:00 p.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church, 830 Wisconsin Ave., Sheboygan, with Rev. John Berg officiating, with a meal and refreshments to follow at the church. Burial will take place at Lutheran Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may visit with the family at the church on Saturday, October 14, 2017, from 11:30 until 1:00.
